Studies
I am a graduate in Tourism from the University of Deusto and I completed my undergraduate studies internationally with the Erasmus + programme at the University of Stenden, the Netherlands, where I specialised in Cruise Management and Tourism Business Management.
For my Final Degree project at the University of Deusto, I reflected on the geographical area of Bilbao-Bizkaia as a venue for major international events in recent years. The work includes the criteria that the public administration takes into account in its strategic plans that justify the attraction of international events through bidding processes. All of which serves as a reflection for the drafting of future strategic plans to be developed in the destination.
I have received training in: Tourism and Gender, Digital Marketing, SICTED and Smart Tourism Destinations.
In addition, I speak several languages: Spanish, Basque, Catalan, English and German, which I have been able to put into practice on numerous occasions throughout my work experience.
Experience
Since 2020, within my functions in IN2destination, I work developing European projects of strategic planning of sustainable tourism, measurement, tourism circularity, dynamizing participatory governance processes, as well as organizing international events.
In addition, I work in the development and daily operation of tourism observatories, in the conceptual and visual design of tourism observatories that are being defined or in the process of advancing towards new methodologies, in studies of carrying capacity of tourism destinations, in the development of their vision and action plans and application of dynamic participation methodologies to encourage action beyond the documents that are generated.
Before working at IN2destination I worked as Guest Experience at the 3 Michelin star restaurant, Azurmendi; in tourism services management for the incoming agency, North Incoming Service; as assistant to the Deputy Director at Jaiak Baleares, a company that rents materials for events in Mallorca; and as head of attendance control for the Olatuan Forum in the Port of Bilbao. In addition, I did my undergraduate internship in an event coordination and management company in Bilbao.
I have also worked at numerous national and international tourism promotion fairs, including FITUR 2018 and 2019, Routes Europe in Hannover Germany, Expovacaciones in Bilbao and B Travel in Barcelona. In all of them I have worked for the Basque tourism agency, Basquetour, as a representative of the destination in product stands and in the management of professional meetings.
